Terms and Conditions
Last updated: July 16, 2026
These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of Jora Events including our websites, apps, event pages, checkout pages, widgets, dashboards, and related services. Jora Events is operated by Jirtuu.
By accessing or using Jora Events, creating an account, publishing an event, buying a ticket, registering for an event, or using a ticket or check-in tool, you agree to these Terms. If you use Jora Events on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization.
1. Our Role
Jora Events provides technology that helps organizers create events, sell or issue tickets, manage registrations, communicate with attendees, process payments, and run check-in. Unless we clearly state otherwise, we are not the organizer, host, promoter, venue, performer, sponsor, or seller of the event itself.
Organizers are responsible for their events, including event content, pricing, availability, admission rules, safety, accessibility, cancellations, refunds, taxes, and compliance with applicable laws.
2. Accounts and Access
You must provide accurate account information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for all activity under your account and for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
We may suspend or restrict access if we believe an account is being used in violation of these Terms, to protect the platform, to comply with law, or to prevent harm to users, organizers, or third parties.
3. Organizer Responsibilities
If you create, publish, or manage an event through Jora Events, you agree to:
- provide accurate event, ticket, pricing, location, schedule, age restriction, refund, tax, and contact information;
- honor valid tickets and registrations issued through the platform;
- clearly communicate event rules, entry requirements, cancellation policies, and refund policies;
- obtain all permits, licenses, venue permissions, performer permissions, insurance, and approvals needed for your event;
- comply with consumer protection, advertising, tax, privacy, payment, safety, accessibility, and other applicable laws;
- use attendee data only for lawful event-related purposes and in accordance with your own privacy obligations;
- avoid misleading, unlawful, infringing, abusive, discriminatory, unsafe, or harmful event content or conduct.
4. Attendee and Ticket Buyer Responsibilities
If you buy a ticket, register for an event, or attend an event, you agree to provide accurate information, follow the organizer's event rules, and use tickets only as permitted. You are responsible for reviewing event details, location, date, time, ticket type, restrictions, and refund policy before completing an order.
Tickets may be subject to organizer terms, venue rules, age limits, identification checks, security checks, and other entry requirements. Admission decisions are generally made by the organizer or venue, not Jora Events.
5. Payments, Fees, Taxes, and Payouts
Paid orders may be processed by third-party payment providers such as Stripe or Chapa. By making or receiving payments, you may also be subject to those providers' terms and policies.
Prices, currencies, taxes, service fees, payment methods, refund rules, and payout timing may vary by event, organizer, payment provider, and country. Organizers are responsible for setting ticket prices and for determining, collecting, reporting, and remitting applicable taxes unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing.
We may deduct or collect platform fees, payment processing fees, chargebacks, refunds, adjustments, taxes, and other amounts owed before releasing payouts to organizers.
6. Refunds, Cancellations, and Event Changes
Refund policies are set by the organizer unless a different policy is required by law or expressly stated by Jora Events. Organizers are responsible for handling event cancellations, postponements, material changes, attendee disputes, and refund requests for their events.
Jora Events may assist with refund processing through the platform, but processing a refund does not make us responsible for the event or for organizer obligations. Payment provider fees and platform fees may be non-refundable unless required by law or stated otherwise.
7. Communications
By using Jora Events, you agree to receive transactional communications related to your account, orders, tickets, events, security, payments, support, and platform administration. These may be sent by email, SMS, WhatsApp, in-app notice, or other available channels. Marketing messages will be handled according to applicable law and your communication preferences.
8. User Content
You retain ownership of content you submit to Jora Events, such as event descriptions, images, logos, organizer pages, questions, messages, and uploaded materials. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, transmit, and use that content as needed to operate, promote, secure, and improve the platform and provide the services you request.
You represent that you have the rights needed to submit your content and that your content does not violate law, infringe rights, mislead users, or harm others.
9. Prohibited Conduct
You may not use Jora Events to:
- violate law, contracts, intellectual property rights, privacy rights, payment rules, or event regulations;
- publish fraudulent, deceptive, defamatory, hateful, exploitative, violent, unsafe, or unlawful content;
- sell fake tickets, manipulate orders, misuse promo codes, evade fees, or process unauthorized transactions;
- interfere with platform security, availability, integrity, or performance;
- scrape, reverse engineer, overload, or access the platform using unauthorized automated tools;
- upload malware, attempt unauthorized access, or compromise another user's account;
- use attendee data for spam, unlawful marketing, discrimination, harassment, or unrelated purposes.
10. Intellectual Property
Jora Events, including our software, design, trademarks, logos, content, and platform features, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership of our platform or brand to you. You may not use our trademarks or branding without our prior written permission, except as needed to identify Jora Events as your ticketing or registration provider.
11. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information. By using Jora Events, you agree that we may handle information as described in the Privacy Policy.
12. Third-Party Services
Jora Events may integrate with payment processors, messaging providers, analytics tools, hosting providers, maps, social networks, streaming tools, and other third-party services. We are not responsible for third-party services, and their own terms and policies may apply.
13. Service Availability and Changes
We work to keep Jora Events reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may update, suspend, limit, or discontinue parts of the platform at any time, including to perform maintenance, improve features, protect security, or comply with law.
14. Disclaimers
Jora Events is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranties arising from course of dealing or usage of trade. We do not guarantee event quality, attendance, sales, revenue, organizer performance, attendee behavior, venue suitability, or event outcomes.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Jora Events and Jirtuu will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, or business opportunities. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for claims relating to the platform or these Terms will not exceed the greater of the fees paid to us for the relevant transaction or the amount permitted by applicable law.
16. Indemnity
If you are an organizer or use Jora Events on behalf of an organization, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Jora Events, Jirtuu, and our directors, officers, employees, contractors, and service providers from claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and expenses arising from your events, content, misuse of the platform, violation of these Terms, violation of law, or infringement of third-party rights.
17. Termination
You may stop using Jora Events at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to the platform if you violate these Terms, create risk or possible legal exposure, fail to pay amounts owed, or use the platform in a way that may harm users, organizers, us, or third parties. Certain sections of these Terms will continue to apply after termination where their nature requires it.
18. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ethiopia, unless applicable consumer protection laws require otherwise. The parties will first try to resolve disputes in good faith. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will be handled by the courts or dispute-resolution bodies with proper jurisdiction, unless applicable law requires a different forum.
19. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users, such as posting the updated Terms on the platform or sending a notice. Continued use of Jora Events after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
20. Contact Us
